ABOUT ANDIE

Andie has lived and worked in the UK, Africa, North and South America, Asia and across Europe.

PEOPLE: Andie has over 30 years experience in people and business development, executive coaching and leadership training. He specialises in designing and delivering experiential training programmes for leaders and managers for the public and provate sector. He is MBTI Level 2 facilitator for executive profiling, coaching and personal development and a Belbin Trainer to develop high performance teams and personal development.

​As a business coach, Andie has helped develop and set up many successful new businesses over the last ten years including Garlands Corporate, Stunt Challenge, Basecamp Festival and the Grand Pavilion Ltd to name a few. An exceptional business consultant, trainer, facilitator, event and project manager, Andie focuses on you and your business - your vision, your objectives, your teams and your customers.

An exceptional conference and event manager, Andie designs, organises and delivers conferences and events for many clients, including corporate conferences, leadership and manager development programmes and events, high preformance team interventions, and is a founder of developing CSR projects linked to corporate training and development programmes. He is able to challenge thinking, helping businesses develop a vision, plan a strategy, co-ordinate change management programmes and cascade training to develop and align your key people and teams to deliver, every time.

 

PLACES: Andie has been an overseas expedition leader for over 25 years, working in remote PLACES to develop and lead expeditions that focus on research conservation and personal development for young people across the planet. He recently returned from Morocco after completing a recce for the new charity he is helping to set up that links underprivileged people in the UK with overseas projects and communities, inspiring them to all reach their own aspirations.

An inspirational leader, Andie has also organised many expeditions to the places such as the Amazon rainforests, Mongolian steppe and gobi desert, Rwanda and the Grand Canyon for many years. He has also led scientific and adventurous expeditions around the world for numerous organisations and has previously been Technical Advisor for all jungle expeditions for British Exploring.

Andie is passionate about conserving the planet; preserving its wildlife and resources, working with overseas communities to promote sustainability and exploring beyond its edges for the good of future generations. With his expeditions he has previously linked with the bactrian camel sanctuary in the Gobi Desert, the National Park Service in Grand Canyon, self sustaining orphanages across the globe, and has been a chief leader for scientific research based expeditions for British Exploring to Pacaya- Samiria and Manu Reserves in the Amazon rainforests of Peru.

PLAY: An exceptional event manager, Andie designs, organises and delivers events for many clients, including adventure festivals and conferences, OCR events, music and well being festivals, including the Little Chill Festival (in collaboration with the Big Chill founder Pete Lawrence) and Basecamp Festival (with Explorers Connect founder Belinda Kirk). Drawing on his experience, knowledge, strong business acumen and exceptional facilitation skills, he works with clients to challenge thinking, develop a vision, plan a strategy, co-ordinate the right team and also deliver, every time.

In the past, Andie ran Flying Tomato promotions to promote and organise music events for a variety of established, as well as up and coming artists, within the music industry including Half Man Half Biscuit, Lucy Ward, Oysterband, Richmond Fontaine, Eddi Reader, Ann  Duggan Band and Mawkin:Causley to name a few. Andie developed the Folk Festival in Darley Dale in 2010, promoting up and coming artists alongside established acts that proved a great success with female artists making the Friday line up and male artists on the Saturday.

PASSION: He also plays a key role in his local community; previously a Parish Councillor, a trustee for a cancer charity and fundraising for many good causes. He is a founder for the now succesful Celebrating Cromford event, Cromford Christmas Market, and a founder and Director for the Grand Pavilion arts and entertainment centre, which has been a focus since 2012. 

Now living on a narrowboat near Derby, he has set up the film club and put on live performance events for this thriving community.

Mind, Body and Spirit - A Next Step Charity...Andie has just agreed to be a primary lead in setting up a new national charity, focusing on supporting and inspiring veterans and service men and women, suffering from mental health, by developing a programme of interventions that include projects and training both in the UK and overseas. Linking professional healthcare workers, other charity organisations and overseas expedition organisers, this far reaching programme has the capability of providing the opportunities for individuals to improve self-esteem and continuously self-develop in many sectors of life.

 

Andie has just come back from Morocco (returning just before COVID_19 lockdown!) where he helped recce an expedition for 2021 to the Anti-Atlas and Sahara Desert region for with young people with learning disabilities from Derbyshire. He continues to develop overseas projects and expeditions for these amazing people through an advisory group that works closely with schools and community organisations to enable and develop young people from across the region.

Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, the second ground breaking Campfire Conventions in 2020 have al been postponed - this included talks, debates and more...the Little Chill, Campout and Winter Gathering . watch this space for a 2021 update!!

Basecamp Festival...Awesome people, inspiring guest speakers, great activities and community spirit at Base Camp Festival 2020 - its a great weekend that I am sure many of you would love to be part of...postponed for July 2020 - watch this space for 2021 Basecamp!!
